Urbanization and industrialization have led to the contamination of many sites with petroleum hydrocarbons, heavy metals, pesticides, organic solvents, or other toxic pollutants. This will subsequently pollute soil, groundwater, and surface water, posing high risks to humans, stocks, fishes, and crops.

Marine Clay and Sediment

Dredging activities unearth marine clay or sediment in water bodies. The clay-like material has high water content, high plasticity, fine particle size, and poor geotechnical properties, thus is tough to handle and reuse. Sometimes the material may be contaminated with heavy metals or other pollutants.

 

ZA’s proprietary SIL process was developed specifically to treat clay-like wastes. Using our proprietary ZA-H reagent,

SIL process chemically transforms soft clay into rigid artificial aggregates that can be used for road subbase, land reclamation, and backfilling. Furthermore, ZA-H stabilizes and encapsulates the pollutants in the soft clay to ensure high environmental safety.
